Mill TV sign 'Pyramids' deal and recruit five staff

Mill TV, the television division of award-winning facility The Mill, have confirmed that they have signed with the BBC to create visual effects for 'Pyramids', a historical documentary based on ancient Egypt.
To complete this work Dave Throssell, head of Mill TV, and Angela Hunt, visual effects supervisor, have recruited five new staff. They are technical director Adrian Wyer,
flame artist Dave Houghton and CG artists Chris Thomas, Jordi Bares and
Nick Webber. 'Pyramids' is expected to air later this year.
Adrian Wyer joins Mill TV from The Hive, where he was a senior animator/compositor. He has a strong background in games, idents, stings and commercials and recently worked on the Channel Four documentary 'Great Auk'.
Dave Houghton joins Mill TV from The Mill where he spent seven years as a flame artist. Houghton previously worked on commercials for directors such as Tarsem, Gerard De Thame and Medhi.
Spanish-born Jordi Bares trained in architecture but moved into computer graphics soon after qualifying. He has worked with software development and now specialises in character animation. For the last 8 years he has been based in Spain working on visualization, commercials, documentaries, cartoons and film.
Chris Thomas joins from Slave Studios where he worked as lighting and rendering team leader on 'Spheriks', the official FIFA Football World Cup animated TV series. Prior to this he was at Peppers Ghost Productions, working as lighting, texturing, and modelling project leader on the children¹s animated series 'Tiny Planets'.
Nick Webber also joins from The Hive where his credits include films such as Lost in Space and commercials for AOL and MTV. Nick originally trained in traditional fine art, and went on to study animation and film theory/practice. After graduating he moved into broadcast graphics and later moved on to work at AMGF/X modelling sets, characters and FX animation.
