Telewest reveals growth in broadband services

Telewest Broadband have revealed that they added 107,000 broadband internet customers to its books in the company's quarterly results released at the end of February.
Telewest claim that this increase represents a 1135 per cent rise in customer growth for its award-winning 'blueyonder' broadband internet service. The company currently provides multi-channel television, telephone and internet services to more than 1.7 million UK households, and voice and data telecommunications services to over 70,000 business customers.
Philip Jansen, Managing Director of Telewest Broadband's consumer division, said: "This time last year we were selling 380 broadband connections a day on average, but today we are averaging 900. We are delivering a full menu of broadband services and have single-handedly been giving consumers a taste of broadband Britain for the past two years."
The company hopes that the launch of their 1 megabit service later this year will further cement their position in the market.
Consumers can register their interest in the 1 mbps cable broadband service, which will be twice as fast as residential ADSL services, at: www.blueyonder.co.uk/evenfaster
Blueyonder broadband presently gives consumers an always-on connection to the internet, with nearly 10 times faster dial-up access than traditional providers.
