RTS Awards New Fellowships

The Royal Television Society (RTS) has awarded seven new fellowships at a dinner held this week at The House of Lords.
Fellowships are awarded to those recognised as having made "an outstanding contribution" to the industry.
The new fellows of the Society are:
  • Tony Cohen, former CEO of FremantleMedia, for an outstanding contribution to television
  • Jane Featherstone, chief executive of Kudos Film and Television, for an outstanding contribution to television drama
  • Jeff Foulser, chairman of Sunset + Vine Productions, for an outstanding contribution to sports television
  • George Jesse Turner, the veteran cameraman whose credits include World In Action and the Seven Up sequence of documentaries, for an outstanding contribution to factual television
  • Alex Mahon, CEO of Shine Group, for an outstanding contribution to television
  • Nicola Shindler, founder of Red Production Company, for an outstanding contribution to television drama
  • Sophie Turner Laing, managing director of content, BSkyB, for an outstanding contribution to television
At the dinner RTS CEO Theresa Wise, who joined the Society in March, outlined her strategy for the RTS, which will include "more emphasis on connecting with young people, increasing support for the RTS's regional centres, building membership and creating a vibrant web presence."
