RAID Storage Systems Set For BVE Launch

Making their European launch at London's BVE 2013 are Sonnet's new RAID storage systems that have the speed and connectivity to excel in media environments.
Sonnet Fusion R400S RAID is s 1U rack-mount 4-Drive SATA storage system which can house drives up to a total capacity of 16TB. In the safe and secure RAID 5 configuration, the appliance can sustain 240 MB/s read, 220 MB/s write speeds, sufficient for numerous ProRes 422 and even multiple 4K ProRes 4444 streams.
This Fusion storage system supports Mac, Windows, and Linux environments and runs cool and quiet in its discreet rack enclosure.
Allan Leonhardsen of the European distributor, Holdan, said: "16TB in one rack unit is perfect for smaller post production and live production studios. It holds hundreds of hours of high quality video assets and it's easy to connect and maintain and takes up little space. As a file server and ingest station, It's the perfect companion to the new Sonnet xMac Mini which converts a Mac Mini computer into a rack-mounted video server."
Also launching at the show is a 3TB version of the portable Fusion F2 RAID storage. Equipped with a versatile quad interface, the Fusion F2 is cool, quiet, and energy-efficient, and, using two eSATA connections, it can deliver stunning performance (190MB/s) for a go-anywhere device. Critically it features twin RAID configured disk drives to deliver total data security that field editors and digital imaging technicians need.
