Terry Pratchett’s ‘Hogfather’ starts HD production at 3 Mills Studios

Sky One and RHI Entertainment’s commission of Terry Pratchett’s worldwide best-selling fantasy fiction novel, ‘Hogfather’, is to be shot at 3 Mills Studios and nearby locations.
Production on the 2 x 120” HD television feature has commenced and principal photography is due to start at 3 Mills Studios in April 2006.
‘Hogfather’ is Sky One’s biggest drama commission to date and is the first to be shot on HD. The film stars David Jason (Only Fools and Horses, A Touch of Frost, The Darling Buds of May) as Albert and other UK and US talent to be confirmed. ‘Hogfather’ is directed by Vadim Jean (Leon the Pig Farmer) and produced by Rod Brown (Dream Team, Goal) and Ian Sharples (The Virgin of Liverpool). Elaine Pyke, Commissioning Editor Sky One, will executive produce for Sky One and Robert Halmi Sr (Dinotopia) is the executive producer for RHI Entertainment. ‘Hogfather’ is produced by the award winning production company, The Mob Film Company.
The production of Hogfather marks the first ever live action / CGI film of Discworld and its characters.
Elaine Pyke, Commissioning Editor, Drama, Sky One, commented: “It is excellent that we are able to continue our relationship with 3 Mills Studios. The number and variety of stages that 3 Mills offered was exactly what we wanted for Hogfather and the staff have been incredibly helpful in negotiations and facilitating our needs. And of course it is a thrill to be able to film in London.”
